Inaugural Meeting of New Session of CAMT Standardization Committee was held

On May 20, 2025, the "Inaugural Meeting of New Session of Standardization Committee of CAMT and the Conference on Steel Supply Chain Standardization" was held in Beijing, which is organized by the Standardization Committee of CAMT and undertaken by Tongbiao Zhongyan Standardization Technology Research Institute. The conference brought together leaders of CAMT, all members and representatives of the 3rd Session of CAMT's Standardization Committee. They engaged in in-depth interactions to jointly discuss new ideas and paths for standardization work in the steel supply chain sector.

The meeting was respectively presided over by Chen Zhuo, Secretary General of the Standardization Committee of CAMT, and Li Jing, Assistant to the Secretary General of CAMT.

Chen Leiming, Executive President and Secretary General of CAMT and Director of the Standardization Committee, delivered a speech. He pointed out that more and more practices have proven that standardization is a crucial tool for promoting high-quality development in the industry. Currently, as the industry enters a period of deep adjustment, reconstruction, and reshaping of market rule , the significance and role of standardization have become particularly vital. As a state-owned non-profit industry organization, CAMT is responsible of assisting the government in industry governance and standardized development. We will focus on providing full-ecosystem standardization services, continuously collaborate with relevant institutions to carry out a series of standardization initiatives, endorse enterprises in brand building, product innovation, service improvement, and high-quality development, and create more "Chinese standards" for Chinese enterprises going global. It is hoped that more enterprises will actively participate in the construction of the standard system to accelerate the quality improvement of China's metal materials industry.

In his concluding remarks, Chen Leiming emphasized that the task of standardization is arduous and long-standing. Adhering to the service philosophy of openness, cooperation, and win-win outcomes, CAMT is willing to further strengthen collaboration with enterprises, scientific research institutions, and certification and accreditation institution to jointly explore innovations and breakthroughs in standardization within the metal materials sector. At the same time, it is essential to continuously break through boundaries, enhance the implementation, application, and evaluation of standards, and facilitate the internationalization process of Chinese standards. It is hoped that the new term of committee members will earnestly fulfill their responsibilities, work together in full cooperation, and jointly create a new chapter in CAMT's standardization work.
