On the afternoon of May 13th, the "Development Conference on New Productive Forces in the Automobile and Motorcycle Parts Industry" with the theme of "Leading by Digital Intelligence and Creating the Future" was held in Yuhuan City, Zhejiang Province, an important production base of automobile and motorcycle parts in China. The conference was guided by CAMT and hosted by Zhejiang Yezhou Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., a vice president unit of the Special Steel Branch of CAMT. Nearly 600 people, including relevant steel enterprises, special steel trading enterprises, automobile and motorcycle parts production and processing enterprises from all over the country, industry experts, and leaders of local government departments, attended the conference.
Chen Leiming, Executive President and Secretary General of CAMT, was invited to attend the conference and delivered a keynote speech titled "Developing New Productive Forces and Cultivating New Growth Drivers".
Chen Leiming analyzed the challenges and opportunities brought by the current domestic and international economic environment. In particular, from the perspective of the US tariff war, he analyzed on its specific impacts on China's economy, supply chain development, technological innovation, global governance, talent cultivation, and open cooperation. He stated that Chinese-style modernization and the high-quality development of the Chinese economy not only face new economic environment and technological challenges, but also prompt China to accelerate the pace of independent innovation, scientific and technological innovation, digital transformation, and supply chain innovation. Based on this, new productive forces have emerged in response to the times and the situation.
Chen Leiming emphasized that in order to cultivate new productive forces, it is necessary to grasp three sets of relationships of new productive forces. First, the relationship between establishment and destruction. That is to balance the orderly phasing out of traditional businesses and the effective establishment of emerging businesses. Traditional businesses should not simply and blindly seek a quick exit. It is necessary to focus on transforming, upgrading and improving them with new production factors, and emerging strategic industries should place more emphasis on breakthroughs in scientific and technological innovation. Second, the relationship between quantity and quality. That is, while pursuing the scale expansion of emerging businesses, attention should be paid to improving the quality and efficiency of traditional businesses. Traditional industries should focus on enhancing quality and efficiency, and emerging strategic industries should focus on improving both quantity and quality. Third, the relationship between internal and external aspects. That is to strengthen the ability of independent innovation, and actively expand innovation cooperation both within and outside the enterprise. Facing up to the fact that scientific and technological innovation is a shortcoming, enterprises need to strengthen infrastructure construction, focus on giving play to the advantages of the entire industrial chain, and use scenarios in exchange for innovation.
