China's trade in services amounted to 4.02 trilion yuan ($0.57 trillion) in the first three quarters of 2019, an increase of 3 percent year-on-year, the Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.
Exports surged 9.4 percent to 1.42 trillion yuan during the same period, while imports shrank 0.2 percent to 2.6 trillion yuan, the ministry's data showed.
The rapid development of the country's service sectors helped lay a solid foundation for the export expansion, the ministry said.
Trade deficit in services fell by 9.8 percent year-on-year in the first nine months, the data showed.
